Rolling Up Their Sleeves: Rotary in Action Across Limerick

This spring has been a busy and inspiring one for the Limerick North Munster Rotary Club, whose members have continued to quietly lead by example across the city. Whether by getting their hands dirty on Good Friday or encouraging life-saving donations, the club is proving once again that small groups of committed people can have a big impact.

Team Limerick Clean-Up: Good Friday in Action

On Good Friday, club members joined the thousands of volunteers who turned out for Team Limerick Clean-Up (TLC10), one of Ireland’s most significant environmental initiatives. Wearing high-vis jackets and armed with bags, gloves, and litter pickers, the Rotary team walked the streets of Limerick with purpose and pride.

For the club, it wasn’t just about removing litter. It was about showing up for the community, playing their part in making Limerick a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming place for everyone. The smiles and waves from passers-by were a reminder that these small acts of service do not go unnoticed. Here are some images from our members on the day:

Lifeblood of the Community: Free Blood Pressure Checks

In recent weeks, the Limerick North Munster Rotary Club offered a practical and caring service to the public by running a free blood pressure clinic. This initiative gave people the chance to check in on their health in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Rotary members helped facilitate the clinic, welcoming attendees and ensuring everything ran smoothly. The response was warm and positive, with many taking a few minutes out of their day to get checked and learn more about their wellbeing.

It’s the kind of hands-on, people-first initiative the club is known for, simple, accessible, and rooted in a genuine desire to help others. These quiet moments of care often go unspoken, but they reflect the heart of what Rotary is all about.

More Than Just Meetings: Rotary’s Lasting Impact

While these two recent initiatives are worth celebrating, they are just part of a wider pattern of quiet service that defines the Limerick North Munster Rotary Club. Week after week, members meet, plan, volunteer, and support causes that often go unnoticed but make a real difference.

From helping local schools and charities to supporting international aid projects, the club’s focus is always the same. Service above self.

If you are curious about what Rotary does or you would like to get involved, whether as a volunteer, donor, supporter, or future member, you can learn more at rotary.ie. New faces are always welcome, and even the smallest contribution of time or energy can have a lasting impact.

Because when it comes to building a better Limerick, every helping hand counts.
